Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are moving in on Julia Roberts, Madonna and our own Nicole Kidman for the title of the most powerful woman in Hollywood. The twosome started working when they were babies after getting a role on 90s sitcom Full House, and they now own a multi-million dollar entertainment empire. But what makes them different to a lot of other stars is that are just normal girls at heart. The twins shy away from doing too many public appearances and are more likely to be doing homework with their tutors than running with Hollywoods fast crowd. Did you get the role on Full House? You were just babies!
MK: Well my mum didnt really want to bring us in but her friend convinced her that theyd take us in and thats pretty much how they got us to the director. We didnt cry ,so they just took us, and that was it as far as auditioning. That was that
How much yes or no power do you have in your successful business?
AF: Were the ones that decide what we doand then we do it!
Thats amazing. Thats a lot of power. Doesnt that feel like a big deal?
AF: Yeah
MK: Yeah, it definitely does. Its good feeling to be able to think that you get to make decisions.
Do you think you are fairly normal?
AF: Yeah
MK: Yeah, I mean we do everything and we worry about everything anybody else does.
AF: Boys, school, homework, everything.
Will you ever go down the Britney Spears route and all of a sudden have a sexy image?
AF: You know I dont really think that we will. With us, were not trying to be somebody that were not.
MK: I mean I dont feel the need to tell the world that Im not a girl anymore!
AF: Id rather be some little girl rather than some sexy symbol.
NEW: We watched the Olsen Twins outgrow their nappies on Full House and have followed their adventures on TV and video. Now all grown up, the talented and highly successful sisters are heading down under! Theyre flying to Australia for a quick visit, but theyll be here long enough to meet a super-incredibly lucky big hit winner and their friend!
